I began the idea of re-decorating my room in "shabby chic" decor. I picked up several small items during this time. Recently, I started searching for white distressed furniture to complete my room. During this search, I realized that, perhaps, shabby chic isn't all that I originally thought. I'm now looking into combining my all-white room accessories with more contemporary furniture. i didn't get around to posting anything this weekend- i was at the beach. now, i'm sun burnt. i suppose i may have been a bit over zealous while applying tanning oil. i blame it on my sun deprivation. i'm taking solace knowing that in a few days this is will be over and i will betanned. until then- i'll find myself wearing loose fitting clothing and walking around my house with a bottle of St. Ives moisturizer. i'm off now to get my eyebrows done- i think i'll wear the new black cotton dress purchases. it's nice and airy. until tomorrow, TCG.

good morning all- well its morning for me at least- i just got out of bed. i'm waiting for water to boil and deciding between jasmine green or peppermint tea. not really sure what i'm doing today. i'm eating cantaloupe now. i wish the phone would stop ringing. i was up last night re-creating my header- very happy with the way it turned out. i've always been a fan of dark blue on pale yellow. i'll have some interesting pictures to post up throughout the weekend. i hope you all have a good one. i absolutely adore cupcakes! well, to be honest, i absolutely adore all sweets but there is just something about cupcakes that is treeees chic. i bought these at a tiny cupcake boutique in one of my favourite areas of the city. all i need now is a carmel macchiato and Wuthering Heights.

my exams are finally over- no more excuses not to blog. i'm looking forward the summer and being able to spend time relaxing with no school-related worries. TTYvery!S

hello all. i thought that i'd try something a bit different and share my outfit of the evening with you guys! the pictures aren't the best quality- after all they were taken on my macbook. in case you were wondering, i wore this to a friends birthday party.

the following products are how i keep my hair so long and healthy. of course- i do not use all three of them in my hair at once. they all pretty much do the exact same thing- keep your hair healthy, shiny and frizz free!! one word of warning- do not apply these before styling your hair with heat. this will cause you hair to fry..yikes!

please excuse the dirty bottles!! i have been combing revlon photo ready with a bit of kiehl's tinted moisturizer. the result? warm, glowing skin. i absolutely love this combination! for maximum staying power- i brush a bit of MUFE HD microfinish powder over it.

i picked this up in drug store run in effort to clear up my skin. this cream cleanser is amazing! it cleanses well without over drying. i highly recommend this for anyone with problem skin.

recently, i have rediscovered my love for long necklaces. i have combined this long Tiffany & Co. chain with a heart charm and peace pendant (both from Tiffany & Co. as well). for a unique touch i added a diamond ring my grandma gave me on my 16th birthday. she's had it for ages. i think this combination necklace looks lovely on plain, one-coloured shirt.

my room renovations are now well underway. i got two new pieces from the ever-glamourous ikea LOL!

this small chandelier hangs above my bed, in the center of the room. it adds a beautiful, feminine touch to the room.

this pillow adds a pop of colour to my all-white bed spread. all though it is a slight deviation from my original "pastel" theme- i love it!

i always love seeing what is in other people's bags- so i decided to share what i have in mine. here it is:

long champ le pliage purse in mauve- i love these bags! i have the same one in dark blue :)

of course theres a bunch of change hanging around at the bottom of my purse

my fav sunglasses- black with gold detailing. they are marc by marc jacobs

little sandal has a mirror at the back of it (so cute) and, of course, a cute metal clip

my favourite nude lipstick is CG 470 (they dont make it anymore... so sad!!), burt's bees lip balm and a kiehl's lip balm for good measure!!

my very well used coach wallet! i need a bigger one now- all my cards barely fit :(
purell hand sanitizer and flashlites- i would never leave home with out either of these things. i am known for being very anal about my teeth and hands!

last, but not least, my leather back notebook which i use to write down any thoughts, ideas or things i need to do!!

i apologize for being a bit MIA for the past week- school has been so hectic. i managed to squeeze in a quick post today. i took a few pictures of the things that i have really been loving lately. this is a bit different than usually because none of things are make-up or fashion related.

easter candy and chocolate! i absolutely the mint chocolate drops pictured in the jar. it's too bad that they only come out around easter time :(

recently i picked up a Sushi cookbook at Winners. it was only $6 and i love love love it! sushi is a lot of work to make but it's well worth it at the end :)

one of my favourite rolls is the chicken teriyaki rolls- california rolls are a close second though! i made these last night. it tasted sooo good :)another thing i have been loving lately are tulips. they are my favourite flower- so beautiful!
i recently picked up this lovely decorative bird cage!! i have been slowly working on transforming my room into "shabby chic." i will put up more picture of my room once the transformation is complete.

Make-up is one of my "self taught" hobbies. I'm not sure if I'd ever want to take it to the next level- as of right now I won't.

Nope. I've learned my lesson too many times. If I rush my make-up, I usually end up taking it all off and starting over (which takes up even more time!!)

Bronzers that make you look orange. I cringe every time!!

Mostly Neutral. I might go for a colourful lipstick every now and then.

I love it even though I don't wear it daily! I love being able to look through all my make-up- it makes me feel special. I know that sounds silly but it is true :) And, if you I am going to bother to put make-up on at all, I will take the time and put it on properly. This is pretty much how I view life in general.

spring colours

spring 2010 is fast approaching and, of course, new nail polish trends are emerging. the most obvious trend for this spring is pastel- it's everywhere. i spotted this lovely nail polish at the drug store.

this mint colour first showed up in october on the Chanel runway. now, it has made it's way to the lower end brands- despite it's loss of being "exclusive" i still love it. revlon recently released it's spring 2010 collection and the mint nail polish above is called Minted. very fitting!

on the topic of new colours coming out for spring- Chanel just released a new collection of lipsticks! i am in love with one of the colours.. well all of the colours.. but particularly this one:

the model, Vanessa Paradis (Johnny Depp's wife) is wearing the colour mademoiselle 05. i love love love it. i can't wait for lent to be over, so i can get my hands on it!

night-out make up look

my semi formal is coming up faster than i have expected. today i planned out my entire make-up look for the evening. i took pictures of everything i will be using. here it is:

First I will apply Make-Up Forever's HD Primer and Revlon PhotoReady Foundation.

Next, I will apply GOSH Liquid "Touch Up" Concealer on my lid and under-eye area. It is best to use a liquid concealer for these areas because they are so delicate. I will also use GOSH Cream Concealer to remaining any blemishes.

Then, with a Kirkland by Borghese flat-top brush I will apply Hoola by Benfit. By using a 3/reverse 3 motion the bronzer will give you a glow in all the places the sun will naturally hit- the forehead, the cheeks and the chin.

With a MAC 129 brush I will lightly apply and layer NARS Orgasm and Luster. This will give you subtle, rosy glow.

Next, I will apply MAC Bare Study Paint Pot all over the lid using a MAC 239 brush. Over this, I will then apply the lightest shade in the above Lancome quad- Latte.

Using a MAC 217 brush I will lightly apply MAC eyeshadow in Print in the crease. I will also using just the tip of my brush apply the black eyeshadow from the Lancome quad to the outer corner of my eye. This will create a more dramatic effect and add depth to the eye.

I will use an angled liner brush also from Kirkland by Borghese and apply a creme black eyeliner (this one is from Smashbox). I will create a thin line on the upper lash line. I will then line the waterline half-way using Make-up Forever's Aqua Eyes eyeliner in black. Finally, I will use DiorShow Mascara in Black. This mascara is great for thickening and lengthening.

Using a Sugar Kabuki Brush I will apply Make Up Forever's HD Finishing Powder all over my face. This will reduce shine throughout the night and set my make-up to a silky finish.

Since the dark eyes are the focus of this looks, I am going for a neutral looking lip. I will apply MAC lipstick in Faux and Clinique lip gloss in Glamourful.

To prevent my make-up from looking over powdery, I will spray Fix+ onto my Sugar kabuki brush and dab it on my eyes and any other powdery areas. I try to avoid any areas that get oily when doing this.

today has been a long and slow day for me. i just wrapped up my homework. now i've found myself listening to caledonia by amy macdoland on repeat. if you haven't heard it before you should check it out. its a perfect wind down song. i'm so dead today, i cant wait to dive into bed with my crinkly white sheet.

i went shopping today- yes it was a must, for my upcoming semi formal (even though) sephora was very, very tempting. i did, however, get a ring. it is lovely and justified- it is for semi!

today i went to the mall and, despite all the temptation, purchased nothing. i am very proud of myself for achieving this great feat. i have, however, been keeping an eye out for a few items to purchase when lent is over. until then i will be window shopping so expect a few more of these types of posts.

These beauties are $150 at Town Shoes. I cannot wait to pair these with a pair of faded skinny jeans and a loose white top!!

iPad: need or greed?

Apple's long awaited unveiling of the iPad has caused much discussion among the internet community. Some say that the iPad is excessive and unnecessary, "an iphone on steroids" one blogger writes. Others, particularly Apple fanatics, have embraced the iPad anxiously waiting its public release. The iPad is said to offer consumers the best way to experience the web, email, photos, and videos. However, as is often seen with first generation products, there may be loose end particularly glitches which need to be sorted out. The iPad's lack of a USB port and a camera will definitely limit it's usage. Perhaps Apple has purposely over looked these key items to allow room for improvement for the second generation. The iPad boasts a multi touch screen with the same set up as the iphone. There are three models 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB in either a WiFi or WiFi + 3G version. There has been no mention of the iPads release in Canada yet. I expect the prices to be slightly higher than the US prices. The iPad starts at $499 US for WiFi and $629 US for the WiFi + 3G version.

I adore Lush. All there soaps/bath bombs/hair products/etc are excellent quality and handmade!! Pictured below are not the only products I have tried but what I have at the moment. I forgot to include Lemony Flutter and the Fresh Face Mask (which is in my fridge!)

Brief Reviews-

Big Shampoo: LOVELY shampoo with huge sea salt crystals. It leaves my hair feeling as clean as ever. It is a bit drying so use it with a good conditioner. However, I would highly recommend this.

Snowshowers: This jelly is a bit awkward to use in the shower. I waste a lot of product because it is alway slipping out of my hands hahaha. The smell of it is amazing and it is so moisturizing. Its a shame that it is limited edition. Oh well, there is always next year.

Angels on Bare Skin: This cleanser is very gentle and leave my skin feeling so soft. It is a bit cumbersome to use. I would probably not repurchase this- It's not one of my favourites.

Father Frost: This soap smells terrible. I got this part of the buy 1 get 2 free soap deal. I do not like this soap at all.

Ring of Roses: I love love love the smell of this soap. It's floral (roses, obv) with a twist of lemon- sooo lovely! I have and will continue to repurchase this soap. It actually contains cream in it so it does not lather but it does moisturize.

Ice Blue: This is a very reviving, strong scent. I ordered this online with one of the Lush Christmas gift sets. The scent is not for me- I prefer something gentle and subtle. This soap has a very strong scent.

Cinders Bath Bomb: I have not used it yet. I actually lost it in between my clothes are just found it a few days ago! It smells pretty good though haha.

Butterball Bath Bomb: It smells amazing! I think that this is the most moisturizing of all the bath bombs. It leave a gross, sticky residue in the tub though..icky!

Angel's Delight: I am so so so upset that I did not buy more of this soap. It smells AMAZING! I cannot get enough of this smell..in the shower it's even better. It smells very sweet which I usually do not like! I wish this was not limited edition :(

Alkmaar: This is another soap that I wish I bought more of. It smells great in the soap and is very moisturizing (can you tell I like that? LOL) I would compare it to snowshowers but in a bar- which is perfect and there is no mess haha! The smell is very hard to describe.

So these are are couple of things I have picked up in the last little while:

MAC Lipstick in Faux. This little-known colour is neutral but when applied with a heavier hand can be worn even in the evenings!

GOSH Concealer Stick in No. 1. No complaints about this product- good formula and coverage. I'm the lightest shade.. :(:( I need a tan!!

I finally got the MAC 239 brush to got with my 217. Nothing bad to say about this brush- a little expensive- but awesome! :)

**I forgot to take a picture of the NARS blush in Luster. Great blush, when the woman first suggested it I was very hesitant. It looks great on, nothing like the colour it appears to be. For those who like Orgasm blush but are too fair (like I am during the winter) try this blush. It will not disappoint!!
